La historia de Internet se reescribirá en clave macrocorporativa. Internet como una historia a tres o cuatro bandas con grandes actores de magnitud mastodóntica que se van pasando el cetro y la corona. Internet Inc. El relato del dinero cautiva a los periodistas, pero no será ese factor el responsable de lo que quiero comentar: lo que sucede es que, desde hace ya tiempo, Internet no puede narrarse desde otro ángulo que ese reducido grupo de empresas que definen y marcan su futuro.

It seems as if the news media have become a wholly owned subsidiary of the internet technology complex (ITC) these days. No matter which seemingly outrageous new product or system is being put forth, it will become ‘news’ in print and online, unpaid advertising that assumes that all of us have little else to do but sit here and salivate over the next great new development, however futuristic and socially disruptive it is.
